Congratulations to the WAC Juniors who competed at the JNOC in Lilleshall this weekend.
Louisa Piper won the U12 Junior Fita Star Championship on the Saturday with a new National Record of 1342 on the Metric 5 – 9 points on the previous National Record – to win the Tonkin Trophy. Her comment on the day was that it was the most fun she’d ever had at a competition and certainly all the other junior archers, and their parents (and grandparents), were a joy to be with.
Eleanor Piper won the AGB U16 Silver medal on the Saturday shooting a new County Record of 1280 on the Metric 3, +360 points on her last season PB for this round!
On the Sunday, Louisa Piper won the U12 National Championship with another new National Record of 1262 on the Bristol 5 – 20 points on the previous National Record – to win the Bragg Cup. This cup dates back to 1964 and contains two Olympians and one World Champion – our very own Andrea Gales (1985)!
Eleanor Piper continued her incredible performance on the Sunday to once again take the AGB U16 Silver Championship medal on the Bristol 3.
James Woodgate also competed on the Sunday in order to test out his new bow and was very encouraged with the results!
Well done to them all!
